Our Standard and High Memory plans are running on EPYC Milan processors with DDR4 ECC memory. Our Dedicated CPU plans are running on EPYC Genoa processors with DDR5 ECC memory, pinned 1:1 vCPU cores. All plans include storage (NVMe RAID10), KVM virtualisation and root access.

Three node policies

Three ways to promise never overcommitted.

Each node has a fixed amount of memory that is available for use, and we have not changed that here. What has changed per tier series is the vCPU sharing policy and the box placement policy for that tier series. Choose the series that matches your application's constraints.

Standard

Capped sharing.

vCPU shares per node on EPYC Milan nodes with low-density memory configurations and hard-capped usable memory per node. Small neighbour count by design; node headroom stays unsold for your application to breathe.

vCPU shares per node 1:2 to 1:4

A Shared vCPU configuration (1:2 to 1:4 vCPU shares per node) on low-density EPYC Milan nodes, with hard-capped memory per node. A very small number of neighboring nodes. The headroom of these nodes is kept unsold for your application.

High Memory

Memory first.

The large memory pool is for in-memory workloads. The plan is based on the Standard plan using the same EPYC Milan CPUs but sized for memory-cache headroom per tenant.

RAM to vCPU ratio 8 : 1

For in-memory workloads (like database caching), a large memory pool is required to function properly. We have therefore sized the servers to provide the same memory-cache headroom per tenant as if they had rented out the entire server themselves.

Every plan

What is in the box.

Every VPS (S-4 to H-192) gets the same hardware and the same control panel as the higher-end VPSes. No "tier-only"-features which would cost extra on the lower tiers.

  • NVMe RAID10

Every node, every plan. No SATA SSD anywhere.

  • ECC memory

All Dedicated CPU plans are powered by the latest generation of AMD EPYC processors, the Genoa processors running on top of DDR5 ECC memory. On top of that all Dedicated CPU plans have the vCPUs 1:1 pinned to cores.

  • Amsterdam and New York

Our servers, prices and packages are identical in Amsterdam and New York. Choose the location where you would like to deploy your servers.

  • Full root, KVM

Full root access to KVM Virtual Servers. Any 64-bit Linux distribution supported. SSH key is automatically added on first boot to allow for password-free login.

  • IPv4 + IPv6

    1 IPv4 / 1 IPv6 address block per VPS (no extra charge).

  • Control panel

Console, reinstall, rescue, snapshots, reverse DNS, API access.

Security and abuse

Quiet networks make for fast neighbours.

Abuse and security are part of the platform and are not a feature that you pay extra for to have it enabled. Edge scrubbing for DDoS protection. Human abuse handling (reports of abuse are reviewed by a human within minutes and the user who reported it will be rewarded). Quiet networks make for fast neighbors. Coordinated disclosure of vulnerabilities

Edge DDoS scrubbing
Volumetric attacks are scrubbed at the edge of the network, therefore no action will be required from customers before they are protected.
Human abuse handling
All reports of abuse to abuse@buyvps.com are dealt with by real people. If we confirm that there is an issue with a account it will be dealt with immediately. Other accounts that are affected by the abuse will also be dealt with as a matter of priority.
Coordinated disclosure
Vulnerabilities found on our servers to security@buyvps.com with a acknowledgement within 48 hours and a path to fix before public disclosure.
Access and isolation
The SSH key for the first login is pre-generated and installed on the first boot. The KVM-based platform has hardware-level isolation between tenants. Access to console and rescue mode is provided through the control panel.

Why teams pick BuyVPS.

Four short reasons why teams choose BuyVPS. Why teams choose BuyVPS, complete with photos of the hardware, a network diagram and published benchmarks, can be found on the features page.

01

Hardware that does not get watered down.

Our server hardware is top of the line and never gets 'watered down' for smaller projects or 'Non Premium' customers. At BuyVPS, Amsterdam and New York data centers have the same hardware configurations and same high level of performance across regions.

02

Hard-capped node density.

All of our servers run with fixed amount of Memory and VCPU's per server, this results in a solid compute experience and not a floating resource. We SELL dedicated CPU pins/cores 1:1 and do NOT time-share any of them. On every server's we have plenty of headroom on the resources (unsold), which means your application will get the maximum amount of performance out of it.

03

Benchmarks published per region.

We provide Geekbench, fio, iperf3 and pgbench results for every VPS in every region. For every plan. We even provide the raw logs of these tests, so you can check our hardware claims against reality.

04

Operator-led support.

Tickets are written and solved by the same people running the hypervisor for your VMs, i.e. the operators and founders.

See all features Hardware, network, node policy, security, benchmarks

Start small.
Scale fast.

S-4 today, D-64 across two regions tomorrow. The control plane, the API and the support team is exactly the same. No tier up, no replatforming and new contract required to scale this quickly.

FAQ

Common questions

How is the price calculated and when is it billed?
You choose the billing cycle you want to sign up a plan for (monthly, annually or every two years) and that is how you will be charged for the plan. Add-ons and any over-usage will be charged in the next billing cycle.
What is the difference between Standard, Dedicated and High Memory?
The main difference between the three plans is how cores and memory are allocated. The Standard plan has shared vCPUs allocated at a ratio of 1:4 on EPYC Milan / DDR4 hardware, and is most suitable for small-scale development or low-demand production environments. The Dedicated CPU plan pins each vCPU 1:1 to a physical core on EPYC Genoa / DDR5 hardware. This plan is for deterministic per-core latency production environments. The High Memory plan has shared vCPUs on EPYC Milan / DDR4 hardware with an 8:1 RAM ratio, and is for in-memory databases and caching where memory is the main constraint.
Can I upgrade or downgrade later?
Plans within the same series can be upgraded or downgraded from the panel. Cross-series moves (Standard to Dedicated, for example) are handled with a snapshot-based migration scheduled by an engineer after you open a ticket in the panel.
Are there setup fees?
VPS plans do not have a setup fee. IPv4 addresses that have a monthly fee also have a one-time setup fee listed on the add-on card in the panel.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Credit card, SEPA direct debit, iDEAL and bank transfer. Payment options will be visible when you place an order at my.buyvps.com.
What happens if I exceed the monthly bandwidth allowance?
Bandwidth is counted per calendar month and resets on the 1st of the next month. Overage has a hard cap and will not be billed automatically. If you think you are going to need more bandwidth than what is included in your plan on a regular basis, it is probably cheaper to add it as an Extra Bandwidth add-on. In that case, the panel would flag it for you anyway.
Can I deploy in both Amsterdam and New York?
We have two data centers, one located in Amsterdam and the other in New York. At both locations the same software is used and the services are offered for the same price. Therefore it is no problem to set up a VPS in both locations. All VPSes will be listed under your account.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
We honor cancellations at the end of the billing cycle. For new customers who encounter a problem with our platform within their first billing cycle, we offer a credit after investigating the issue.
What is included on every plan?
We provide NVMe RAID10 storage, ECC memory, KVM virtualization, root access, one IPv4 address, one /64 IPv6 block, console / reinstall / rescue, API access, basic telemetry and abuse / security handling on all plans.
Do you offer custom plans?
Yes, for sustained workloads outside the published tiers (very large RAM, GPU passthrough, multi-region fleets) we will scope custom configurations against our existing hardware, rather than designing on paper first. For more information on custom VPS hosting solutions, use the sales address on the contact page.
