What cheap usually hides

The cheap-VPS playbook, and what we refuse to do.

Most "cheap" VPS deals get cheap by quietly taking something away, then charging it back later. Here is the usual playbook next to how every BuyVPS plan actually works.

Renewal price

The first-term trap

Headline price for term one, then it doubles on renewal.
The price you sign up at is the price you keep, for life.
CPU

Oversold cores

One core sold to ten tenants, so it stalls under load.
A guaranteed share of AMD EPYC, with dedicated-core tiers when you need them.
Virtualisation

Container in disguise

OpenVZ or LXC sold as a "VPS", sharing one host kernel.
True KVM with your own kernel, full root and real isolation.
Storage

Spinning or shared disk

SATA SSDs or throttled storage that crawls at peak hours.
NVMe RAID10 measured at 122,959 random read IOPS, published.
Fees

The bill after the bill

Setup fees, paid IP addresses and surprise overage charges.
No setup fee, IPv4 and IPv6 included, clear plan pricing.
Memory

Non-ECC consumer RAM

Cheap desktop memory where silent bit-flips corrupt data.
Error-correcting ECC memory on every node, as standard.
Cheap, not slow

Less money, the same measured hardware.

A low price is only a bargain if the server actually performs. These are median results from five runs per test, with public, reproducible commands, so you can check the value for yourself before you pay.

The entry plan

The cheapest plan that is still a real server.

Our entry VPS is not a stripped-down trial. It runs on the same KVM platform, the same NVMe RAID10 storage and the same network as every larger plan, and you can scale up at any time.

Standard VPS-4
Entry VPS
16,80/mo

2-year term. Monthly and 1-year terms also available. Same price in Amsterdam and New York.

What is in the box

  • True KVM virtualisation
  • Dedicated resource share
  • NVMe RAID10 storage
  • ECC memory
  • Full root access
  • IPv4 and IPv6 included
  • All major Linux distros
  • No setup fee
Cheap to start, cheap to keep

Pay less, and keep paying less.

Cheap should mean predictable, not a teaser rate. Pick the billing term that suits you and pay the way you prefer.

No renewal hike

The price never jumps

There is no first-term discount that resets later, no setup fee and no charge for IP addresses. Go month to month for full flexibility, or pick a 1-year or 2-year term to bring the monthly price down further.

Whatever you choose, the rate stays the same for as long as you keep the plan.

Pay your way

Cards, bank transfer and crypto

Pay by credit card, SEPA direct debit, iDEAL or bank transfer, or with cryptocurrency including Bitcoin if you would rather keep billing private. No long-term contract is required to get the low monthly rate.

Paying with crypto

Where it runs

Same low price, both sides of the Atlantic.

Deploy in Amsterdam for EU jurisdiction and AMS-IX peering, or in New York for low latency across North America. The hardware and the price are identical in both regions.

FAQ

Cheap VPS questions, answered.

How can a cheap VPS still be reliable?

Because the savings do not come from weaker hardware. Every plan runs on AMD EPYC, NVMe RAID10 and ECC memory under KVM, the same as our larger plans. The low price comes from efficient operations and an honest pricing model, not from overselling the machine.

What is the cheapest plan?

The entry Standard VPS starts at 16,80/mo on a 2-year term, with monthly and 1-year terms also available. See the plans page for the full list of sizes and current pricing.

Will the price go up when I renew?

No. There is no renewal hike and no setup fee. The price you sign up at is the price you keep for the life of the plan, and it is the same in Amsterdam and New York.

Is it managed or unmanaged?

Cheap plans are unmanaged by default, so you keep full root control. If you would rather not handle maintenance, you can add the optional Managed service on the service page for OS updates, monitoring and proactive support.

Can I pay with crypto or Bitcoin?

Yes. Alongside credit card, SEPA direct debit, iDEAL and bank transfer, you can pay with cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin. A monthly term keeps the commitment short while still giving you the low rate.

Can I start small and upgrade later?

Yes. Start on the entry plan and scale up to larger Standard, Dedicated-core or High-Memory plans as you grow, without rebuilding your server from scratch.
